Please Help Me Stay Strong for My Kids: Support My High-Risk Pregnancy and Unexpected Health Journey

Hi everyone,

My name is Tina, and in March, my life took an unexpected turn that changed everything for me and my family. What started as a severe headache quickly turned into a medical emergency that flipped my entire world upside down.

On March 16th, I started experiencing a severe headache that just wouldn’t go away, no matter what I tried. Being pregnant and having had preeclampsia with my first pregnancy, I went to the ER out of caution. My doctor suspected the same issue again, especially since my blood pressure was elevated. I was admitted to the hospital, and while my blood pressure eventually stabilized, the headache only got worse.

I was desperate to go home and rest with my daughter, Ivy, but the pain became unbearable. Less than 24 hours after discharge, I had to return to the hospital. My OB insisted I get an MRI, and that scan changed everything. It revealed a right cerebral venous sinus thrombosis — in simple terms, a blood clot in my brain.

That news led to an immediate transfer from Longview Regional Medical Center to Medical City Dallas, because the level of care I needed could no longer be provided locally. I stayed in Dallas until March 26th, and I’ve now had to transfer my entire care team, including my OB and high-risk specialist, to Medical City Dallas. Longview is no longer able to handle my delivery due to the complexity of my condition.

Now, I have to travel to Dallas every week for monitoring and appointments. Starting May 16th, I’ll be staying in Dallas full-time until I deliver in June.

As a single mother, this has been an incredibly overwhelming season. I’m not only managing a high-risk pregnancy and my own health—but also taking care of my sweet daughter, Ivy, while trying to prepare for a new baby. There have been times I’ve had to leave Ivy hundreds of miles away, and other times I’ve had no choice but to bring her back and forth with me to Dallas. It’s not just emotionally and physically challenging for me—it’s been hard on her too.

I’m unable to work right now due to medical restrictions, and with no short- or long-term disability, I have no income coming in. Bills, medical expenses, travel costs, and baby preparations are piling up fast. I’m doing all I can to stay strong, but I can’t do it alone.

I’m humbly asking for your support. Whether it’s a donation, a prayer, or even just sharing this with others—any support will help ease the financial burden and allow me to focus on what truly matters: healing, being present for Ivy, and safely bringing this new life into the world.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with me during this time.

With love and gratitude,
Tina
