I’ve recently been offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to travel to Nepal for a herpetological survey at the end of June for roughly two weeks. Herpetology is the study of reptiles and amphibians, and a scientist has recently discovered 5 new herp species to study and learn about.
I will be traveling with a small team of 4-6 people, all fellow zookeepers and animal lovers. We are going to be doing a lot of roughing it, a lot of field activities, and hopefully catching a lot of reptiles and amphibians! We’ll be staying in local homesteads and eating a lot of home cooked meals, made by people who have been kind enough to welcome us into their homes.
Feel free to help me on this incredible journey! Anything helps! I welcome any and all advice and travel tips as well! If you know me, you know how much I love animals and how this will help expand my career and knowledge of species I love.
