Support My Healing Journey After Jaw Surgery

On December 30th, I suffered a serious fall at home that resulted in multiple facial injuries. I was diagnosed with a bilateral open fracture of my mandible, meaning my jaw was broken in two places, along with complications involving my trachea.
I was life-flighted from Ellsworth to Portland, Maine, where I underwent emergency oral surgery. During surgery, a wisdom tooth was removed, a molar was stabilized and repositioned, and my jaw was repaired with internal fixation using metal plates and screws. I currently have metal brackets on both my upper and lower jaw and am on a mechanically soft diet for the next 4–6 weeks while healing.
Recovery is ongoing and requires frequent follow-up appointments in Portland, at least weekly and sometimes twice a week, which is over three hours from home each way. Unfortunately, I don't currently have health insurance, and the costs are adding up quickly.
To make matters more challenging, my vehicle’s heater failed the same day as my fall, making winter travel unsafe. Funds raised will go toward travel expenses such as gas, possible car rentals, or overnight lodging when needed, as well as medications, medical copays, and basic recovery-related costs.
I was supposed to start a new job on the day of my accident and am eager to return to work as soon as I am medically cleared. This support would help relieve the immediate financial strain so I can focus on healing and getting back on my feet.
Thank you for reading, sharing, or contributing in any way. It truly means more than I can put into words.
