For years, I've waited for this. My name is Mac, and I'm a trans man finally scheduled for a life-changing hysterectomy on May 5th. This surgery is crucial for me, not just for the next steps in my transition and future gender-affirming surgeries, but also to alleviate the chronic pain and dysphoria-inducing breakthrough periods I've recently been enduring.

I'm also the proud owner of Bornwear, a small business dedicated to creating custom, made-to-order gender-affirming prosthetics. My mission is to provide affordable and affirming options for my community. I know firsthand how expensive and inaccessible these items can be, so I've poured my heart and soul (and much of my own savings) into keeping Bornwear's prices as low as possible. This has meant very little profit for me.

Unfortunately, this dedication to affordability comes at a cost, delaying my own gender affirming care. While my insurance *should* cover the bulk of the hysterectomy, I'm anticipating a $3,000 out-of-pocket expense.

I'm asking for your help. Your donation will directly fund my hysterectomy, allowing me to finally address my chronic pain and improve my overall well-being. This will also enable me to continue keeping Bornwear's products affordable for the community, which I love being able to do.

Any funds raised beyond my cost of surgery will be directly channeled into Bornwear's "Gift a Packer" program (packer is what our community calls these prosthetics). There is a waitlist of over 500 individuals, many of whom have been waiting over a year for someone to donate them a packer.
