Hi, my name is Honor Morton, I’m 18 years old, and I’m reaching out to ask for your support in achieving a dream that means the world to me.
I’ve been selected to represent Great Britain at the very first European Deaf Youth Games – an incredible honour and one of the proudest moments of my life. This opportunity is something I’ve worked hard for and earned through meeting strict qualifying standards, and I couldn’t be more excited to compete on the international stage.
However, there is a challenge. Unlike Olympic and Paralympic athletes, deaf athletes don’t receive government funding or support from British Athletics. This means that every athlete on the team must cover all expenses themselves, including travel, accommodation, food, and even our GB kit.
Despite this, representing Team GB is something I am deeply passionate about. Being able to compete against other deaf athletes for the first time and fully immerse myself in the deaf sporting community would be an unforgettable experience and a huge step forward in my journey as an athlete.
I am determined to raise awareness and help create change for deaf sport in the future—but right now, I need your help to make this first opportunity possible.
Any donation, big or small, would mean so much to me and would go directly towards making my dream debut a reality. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can give.
If you want to know more about me and my journey into the sport and how I have gotten to where I am, please please listen or watch the podcast that myself and my twin sister did with Fitter. Faster. Happier.
Thank you ❤️
