I am starting this GoFund me on behalf of a friend who is going through a very difficult financial period, through no fault of their own, and is now at risk of losing housing. My friend is the type of person who will drop absolutely everything to help another person, even a stranger. While I am being intentionally vague to respect this person's privacy, even if I went into detail, I could not even begin to explain the amount of people this friend of mine has selflessly aided over the years, nor could I ever describe the extent of this friend's compassion and magnanimity. But like most extremely generous people, this person is reluctant to ask for help when they are the one in need, which is why I am organizing this fundraiser without their knowledge. My hope is to raise enough money to give this person a bit of a cushion as they continue to work through this sudden and extreme financial setback, just to cover a month or two of rent and essentials like food and toiletries. I appreciate everyone for donating so that I can help my friend--even $5 will make a difference!
