Hello! My name is Skylar, I'm a career barista, and last summer I moved from North Idaho to Port Orchard with my two cats, Simon and Jake, and my best friend/ex significant other/roommate, Andy. We moved here seeking safety from anti-trans legislation in Idaho as well as the opportunities in each of our careers. I thought things were going really well: we were making friends and going out to local music shows, until a few months ago, when Andy suddenly told me that it no longer likes me or wants to be my friend. Since then, my mental state has become increasingly unstable not only due to the jarring change from someone I felt very close to, but also because of regular and frequent verbal altercations between the two of us. We've come to the agreement that our best option is to buy our way out of our current lease and part ways. Due to the expense of moving here (350 miles away from our previous home) in addition to the opportunity I had lined up upon making the choice to move having fallen through after we moved into our current home, I have been struggling financially since we arrived in the area, therefore I don't see any way that I can pay my half of our buyout and/or secure a new home without asking for help.
