Hi I’m Drea, This is my last resort, honestly. I'm 26 years old and I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer (papillary thyroid carcinoma), also known as the "good cancer" because of the rate of growth being very slow or the "quick fixes" like a total thyroidectomy, unfortunately for me, my mass is pretty large and the location makes it inoperable. It's intertwined in some very important veins and my doctors(yes, multiple) don’t think I’ll come out of the surgery with all of my motor functions. The only option I was presented with was a drug that just left its clinical trial, Selpercatinib, to slowly shrink the tumor to inevitably make it operable. My insurance was covering it for a while, but I am no longer able to receive insurance through the government, and my job insurance is only covering a quarter of the monthly refill. Selpercatinib or "Retevmo" monthly refill is $22,792. I have enough for this month, but next month I won't have anything at all. I'm a patient at Fox Chase Cancer Center, and they think we're really close to the finish line, that I should only need another month of medicine to get it to the size necessary to remove it. This is a long shot, but I just want to enjoy the last years of my 20s cancer-free, working towards finally being at a stable point and able to focus on what matters like financial stability and putting roots down. Anything helps and I am very grateful for even just a share.
I know I am able to do anything through God so I’m a thankful for what is to come.
Thank you, peace love and light
