Hi everyone,

This summer I have been offered the opportunity to volunteer in Fiji for three weeks with Think Pacific, a community-led development programme. The meaning of this programme fits the values of supporting youth development and education, which are passions of mine. Fiji is in the heart of the South Pacific, made up of islands rich in culture, history and strong community values. Alongside its beauty, many rural Fijian communities face limited access to resources, youth opportunities, and educational support. Think Pacific partners directly with Provincial Councils and local authorities to address these challenges in ways that are sustainable and culturally respectful. During my time there, I’ll be involved in village immersion, community-led projects and youth workshops. I’ll be exploring sustainability and enterprise in Suva, diving into coral reef conservation to understand how Pacific communities adapt to climate issues. This is about going to support, learn, and uplift the goals that already exist within the community. While being a university student I can’t fund the whole trip alone, so any donation, no matter the size will help me play a small part in something meaningful creating opportunities for their young people.
