My name is Troy and I am disabled due to a nasty illness that almost took my life 6 years ago. Now I am currently in the middle of a challenging battle with stage 3 rectal cancer (Adenocarcinoma). While I am winning the fight and showing improvement, thanks to a very aggressive first round of chemo and radiation treatment that began January, 2026, I still have a long battle ahead of me and am not out of the woods yet. Thankfully I was given a break from treatment to allow my body to heal from the damage caused by the first round, which was much needed. I just started another four month round of chemotherapy today (04/22) which includes wearing an infusion pump with highly concentrated chemo for 48 hours at a time and two new medications (one chemo/one booster) that are administered once per week. This brings new challenges and expenses, along with a couple of new side effects I didn’t experience with my previous round of treatments. And unfortunately those side effects kicked in almost immediately, and they don’t make for a good time. While the donations from some extremely generous friends and family have been a huge help, I am still behind and in need of help. The journey has brought unexpected medical bills and daily expenses that are difficult to manage on my own. The costs of treatment, medications, and regular doctor visits have quickly added up, making it hard to keep up with everyday household expenses and necessities including helping to care for (along with my mom) my amazing great niece and two great nephews who live with me. On top of that, travel expenses for appointments and specialized care have become a significant burden.

As I focus on my health and recovery, the financial strain has made it harder to stay positive. Your support will help me cover the costs of my treatment, pay for essential medications, and manage household and travel expenses during this difficult time.
