On May 13, my father, Eddie Ruiz, underwent brain surgery to remove a colloid cyst that caused severe headaches, dizziness, and blurred vision. What followed were weeks of complications — emergency procedures, time on a ventilator, and multiple shunt surgeries to relieve dangerous fluid buildup. He was diagnosed with low-pressure hydrocephalus, a rare and serious condition.
To date, Eddie has endured five brain surgeries — the initial one in May, followed by three emergency surgeries the following week, and a fifth surgery on September 5, 2025, to replace his shunt and valve. During that most recent procedure, Eddie suffered another major setback. Since then, he has lost the ability to speak and walk and has very limited movement on his right side.
The road ahead will require intensive therapy, long-term care, and unwavering strength. Eddie has been out of work since May and has exhausted all of his leave. With no paycheck and mounting medical expenses, our family is asking for your help to support his recovery.
Every donation, share, and prayer will make a difference as he continues to fight to regain his independence.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing with my father and our family during this difficult journey.
