On September 8, 2025, my father’s brother was deported to Mexico. Since then, my father has taken over the role of primary caregiver for my elderly grandmother, despite risking himself daily by exposing himself, as my father is an immigrant. My father left his wife and child behind in Winter Haven, FL to adhere to the needs of my elderly grandmother as she mentally deteriorated after the emotional turmoil she has had to endure with having her son deported and another who was at risk.
On December 16, 2025, my father decided to attend his scheduled ICE appointment in good faith, and in hopes to obtain his work permit, he ensured to report annually to meet compliance. However, our world was turned upside down that day as my father called my mother and told her he was being detained by ICE. My elderly grandmother was left alone with no caregiver, and our family was torn apart when my father has done nothing but abide by the regulations of ICE and their administration. My father is no criminal and we need your help to legally fight this battle in hopes to get him back to his family.
My father was moved to Alligator Alcatraz on 12/17/2025 and has encountered several incidents of medical neglect, and we are concerned for his well-being at this detention center. The conditions of the facility are reported to be inhumane, with improper treatment from the guards and hygienic risks. My father is not deserving of being placed in a cage; he is human, he is loved, and he is worthy.
Please help us get my dad home.
