UPDATED: My father, Newton Waite, was wrongly detained by ICE for nearly one year, in inhumane conditions, before at last being conditionally released back home on July 19th pursuant to a writ of habeas corpus. He still has removal proceedings pending against him, which we will be fighting vigorously as being entirely unjustified. He is never committed any crime andis not a flight risk. He is a taxpayer, a chef, and a community member. He does not deserve all that he has endured in ICE’s hands over these horrible 10 months or the removal fight still to come

Since my father was taken by ICE in Massachusetts in September 2025. He was held and moved through 6 different states (New York, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arizona, and finally California), declined proper health care, ICE has stolen money from him, and even refused to give him his glasses. My father’s healthdeclined considerably during all this time in ICE custody, and our family has suffered greatly.

I am asking for further help if possible. Our family still owes legal fees and we will face further legal fees for our ongoing fight against removal proceedings. Anything is appreciated.
