Help Give My Dad the Best Life He Has Left

My father is my Superman—the strongest man I know and the only parent I have. I lost my mother—his beloved spouse—to cancer in 2016, just years after he fought his own battle with stage 4 cancer in 2006. Cancer has not only taken so much from our family emotionally, but it has also devastated us financially. After his own fight, my mother’s illness drained what little stability we had left. We have never been able to get ahead of this awful disease.

My dad was a dedicated General Motors Engineer, but cancer forced him out just prior to retirement. He worked hard his entire life, yet he never truly had the chance to enjoy it. Now, he is in the end stages of incurable lung disease, and time is no longer on our side.

There are no savings left—cancer bills have stolen everything, leaving us struggling to keep up with the cost of medical care/co-pays and daily life. On top of his health struggles, his home is in desperate need of repair. Palliative care and hospice are now on board to help keep him as comfortable as possible, but I want to do everything I can to give him dignity, peace, and comfort in his remaining days.

I’m setting up this GoFundMe to help make his last days as fulfilling and special as possible. Whether it’s assisting with medical expenses, repairing his home, or simply ensuring he has everything he needs, every donation makes a difference.
