Ever since I was young, I have been passionate about fashion and creating dress designs. Drawing and imagining new outfits has always brought me joy, and I’ve dreamed of turning this passion into a future career. Now, I have the opportunity to take a big step forward by attending the Fashion Institute of Technology’s pre-college program in New York. As someone from Kentucky, it has always been my dream to someday live in New York, and being able to experience this as a teenager would truly be a dream come true. This experience will help me learn more about the world of fashion, develop my skills, and prepare for college.
Alongside my dreams, I have faced the challenges of being a type 1 diabetic. It hasn’t always been easy, but I consider myself a warrior. My family and Camp Hendon, a camp for kids with type 1 diabetes, have been a huge source of strength and support for me. Their encouragement has helped me overcome obstacles and stay focused on my goals.
However, attending this program and saving for college comes with expenses that are difficult for me and my family to manage alone. The funds I raise will go toward gas money for travel, art supplies for the program, food, and making it possible for my family to be with me and support me during this important time. Every contribution will help me get closer to my dream of studying fashion and building a future in the industry.
To all the kind-hearted people who support me, thank you so much. Your generosity means the world to me, and as a token of my gratitude, I would love to share some of my outfit designs with you. Your support will make a real difference in helping me pursue my dreams.
