Hi, my name is Melissa. I am a Kinesiology major pursuing a future career in Physical Therapy. My school removed my financial aid for the 2024–2025 academic year, including all of my federal aid. Because of this unexpected change, I am unable to register for next semester, even though I have already secured scholarships, federal loans, and other forms of support. I have explored every possible option to cover my remaining balance, but private loan applications have been denied for both me and my family. On top of this, my mother—who has always done everything she could to support my education—is about to be out of work due to severe knee issues, including bone-on-bone pain. She is no longer able to provide the assistance she wishes she could, which makes this situation even more difficult for both of us. I am also a proud charter member of NCNW (National Council of Negro Women), where I actively participate in service, leadership, and community work. Continuing my education is not only important for my career goals, but also for the commitments I have made to my campus and community. At this point, this GoFundMe is truly my last option, as I am running out of ways to move forward on my own. The only thing preventing me from continuing my education next semester is a remaining balance. I am working hard, but I cannot reach this amount in time without help. Any contribution no matter how small would make a meaningful difference. Even sharing this page helps more than you know.
