TUM Application number: 1-00979074
My name is Heidi, and I’m a 25-year-old mother who has been working for years to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering — a dream I’m determined to achieve, no matter how many obstacles I face.
I began studying aerospace in 2019 at Cairo University in Egypt, but due to family circumstances, I had to leave. I applied to the Technical University of Munich (TUM) back then, but my German wasn’t strong enough, and I was rejected.
I didn’t give up. I moved to Germany alone and tried again.
Despite battling serious health issues, I enrolled at another university — but due to a medical setback, I missed one exam and was dismissed because the deadline couldn’t be extended. I had to wait another entire year to reapply.
The following year, I became pregnant. Again, I had to put my dream on hold.
But this year, I tried for the third time — and I was accepted into the Aerospace Engineering program at TUM.
Now the only thing standing between me and this long-awaited opportunity is money.
Because I have a non-EU high school diploma, TUM requires me to pay a €3,000 semester fee. On top of that, I need to find accommodation for myself and my 4-month-old daughter and move to Munich before the semester begins.
Scholarships are only available to enrolled students.
I’m not sharing this story to impress anyone — I’m sharing it because I believe in fighting for what matters. I believe money should never be the reason someone gives up on their passion.
If it doesn’t work this year, I will try again next year — and every year after that until I make it. But I hope, with your help, I can take this step now.
If you can support me — by donating, sharing, or simply sending kind words — it would mean the world to me and my daughter.
Thank you for reading.
