My name is Waleed Eleyan, I’m a 4th years medical student from Gaza. At the beginning of my medical journey, I lost my father — the only provider for our family. His passing left me with the heavy responsibility of supporting my family while trying to pursue my dream of becoming a doctor.

Despite this painful loss and the overwhelming challenges, I did not give up. I worked hard and kept pushing forward, even though the tuition fees were very high. But then, the war came and destroyed my university, and life in Gaza became even more unbearable.

Today, I struggle just to provide the basic necessities for my family, and my dream of studying medicine feels almost impossible. Still, I did not surrender. Since the beginning of the war, I have been volunteering in the emergency department at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, treating the wounded and helping my people during this crisis.

Serving in the hospital has only strengthened my passion to become a doctor.

But the truth remains: my education is still on hold, and I cannot continue without help. That is why I am reaching out to you.
