Hi my name is Eleonore,

I am a Canadia Para Dressage Equestrian athlete and I aspire to qualify for a team spot for the 2026 World Equestrian Games held in Aachen Germany.

I have the fortune of riding a wonderful 6yr old Friesian Sporthorse mare Szecrecy HP. We have been training together since she was 4yrs old in November of 2023. This year was our first year of competing in the Para Grade V Intermediate division (CPEDI 2*) at Tilted Tiara in Calgary AB. We are currently in first position on the Canadian Para Dressage Squad B. In order to meet the qualifying criteria for Squad A we have to attend CPEDI competitions, these are international dressage competitions which are held all over the world and have several levels indicated by 1*.2*3*, for us it means we have to upgrade to CPEDI 3*. On the North American Continent there are only a few, most of them either in California or Florida or Eastern Canada.

My goal for this year is to compete at the CPEDI in Thermal CA at the Desert International Horse Park November 13 - 16 2025.

Attending these competitions is very costly, with transport by land for the horse, air or land travel for myself and a groom, entry fees, feed and bedding for the horse, accommodation for people, coaching fees and other incidentals for this competition alone add up to $ 10,000.

Horses have always been my love and riding my passion. I started riding when I was 7 on a large pony and have competed in eventing, jumping and dressage. A riding accident left me with a compound fracture of my left lower leg and ankle. The ankle fracture would not heal, subsequently the back ½ of my talus bone had to be removed, causing very limited ankle movement, a limp, arthritis and chronic pain. This meant the end of riding jumpers, but it never stopped me from riding dressage. I became a coach and trainer with a love for developing horses and riders and for competing in dressage. Because of the injury I am a Grade V Para rider and have represented Canada on the Para Equestrian Team in the World Championships 2007 and World Equestrian Games 2010 as well as two Paralympic Games 2008 Hong Kong and 2012 London. It would mean the world to me to represent Canada once more at WEG in 2026 in Aachen, Germany.
