Support My Dream of Nursing Education at Columbia University

I hope this message finds you well. My name is Tia Williams and I'm reaching out to you with a heartfelt request for support as I embark on a journey to pursue my passion for nursing at Columbia University.

Ever since I was young, I've harbored a deep-seated desire to make a meaningful difference in people's lives. This aspiration drove me to complete my undergraduate degree in psychology and pursue a career in nursing, a field where compassion, dedication, and expertise converge to alleviate suffering and provide holistic care. After countless hard work and dedication, I was accepted into the Direct Entry MSN (Master of Science in Nursing) and DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) program at Columbia University which will push me closer to achieving my goals.

However, despite my unwavering determination and enthusiasm, I face a significant obstacle to realizing this dream: financial constraints. As an international student, navigating the complexities of financing my education has proven to be an arduous task. The shared burden that’s placed on the shoulders of my parents and me is too much for us to solely bear. I have explored various avenues for funding, from loans to outside scholarships, but unfortunately, I have encountered numerous challenges and roadblocks along the way due to my status as a non-permanent resident in the U.S.

The cost of tuition, living expenses, and other associated fees at Columbia University is substantial, and while my parents and I are willing to work tirelessly to support myself, the burden of financing my education is overwhelming. Despite our best efforts, I fear that without additional assistance, I may not be able to afford the invaluable opportunity to pursue my graduate studies at Columbia University. This is why I am reaching out to you, dear friends, family, and members of the community. I am humbly asking for your support in helping me achieve my educational aspirations. Your generosity and kindness can make a world of difference in my journey towards becoming a competent and compassionate nurse practitioner. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will bring me one step closer to realizing my dream and making a positive impact in the field of healthcare.
