When I was in undergrad, I spoke to my dentist about the career I desired to pursue at the time. In doing so, he then spoke to me about dentistry. Even though I initially desired to be a vet, having that conversation with him changed my perspective and piqued my interest. He suggested I consider dentistry instead and invited me to shadow him. That experience opened my eyes to the world of dentistry, and I quickly fell in love with the field. As I continued to shadow other dentists and work as a dental assistant, I realized how much of an impact dental care can have on people's lives. Helping patients improve their smiles not only restored their confidence but also contributed to their overall health. I learned that dental health affects so many aspects of the body, and taking care of your teeth can even impact longevity and well-being.

Now, as a second-year dental student at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry, I am preparing to enter clinics this summer. This is a crucial step in my education and career, and I want to make sure I am equipped to serve my patients to the best of my ability. One essential tool for this next phase is a pair of ergonomic loupes. These loupes will help me maintain good posture, prevent back and neck pain, and allow me to work more comfortably and effectively. With dual magnification, I will be able to see my work in greater detail, improving my accuracy and the quality of care I provide.
