Support My Daughter Devin Through Cancer

Beloved friends,

My name is Katherine Bramhall. In July of 2023, my youngest daughter Devin was taken to the hospital in NY where it was found that an ovarian cyst had burst, subsequently resulting in a diagnosis of a rare form of ovarian cancer called Mucinous Ovarian Carcinoma. This form of cancer only occurs in 3% of all epithelial ovarian cancers and which to date, only 60 other cases have ever been found.

This cancer is an infiltrative mucinous ovarian cancer and is aggressive. As such, it presents a "diagnostic and therapeutic conundrum for oncologists" as it is a "unique disease requiring unique management."

After a successful surgery this fall it was decided that she should undergo 6 months of chemotherapy, which she began 3 1/2 weeks ago. Keeping Devin supported through this (most recent) cancer diagnosis will be a one-year journey for her.

Devin's current situation is this-Cancer is a full-time job:

I am fundraising for Devin to help her get through the next year financially so she has the money she needs to meet her medical and living expenses.

Devin is self-employed and lives alone. Managing cancer, undergoing chemotherapy and the subsequent profound side-effects has impacted her ability to work as much as she has been.

Is she still working? Yes! She's Devin and she is committed to working as much as she can, when she can, because she loves what she does. Already it is not enough, however, to ensure that the medical bills (even with financial aid, etc.) and expenses will be covered.

Her staying in NY is most important, given the rare nature of her cancer diagnosis and Sloane's ability to track and treat it. As such it is essential that she is able to stay in NY at Memorial Sloane Kettering.
