Support my dads cancer battle and our tiny family of 3

Hello, My name is Mariam and I'm Sohail's daughter. My dad is a hardworking immigrant father who is constantly providing for his family and taking care of us. He at his age of 61 has so much knowledge and experience and as his daughter I can truly say that what I've learned from him is extremely valuable and I don't know where i would be without him.

Just earlier this year my father was working a normal day in his 7 day per week roadside job; helping others, when suddenly he fell and lost all control of the left side of his body. Calling 911 was jarring because although I knew my father was diabetic and had health issues, i never knew he was suffering from coronary heart disease. Losing him almost broke me. He had a stroke.

Later we found out that not only one, but 7 arteries weren't pumping his blood correctly throughout his body; including the windowmaker, which is the largest of the three main arteries that supply blood to the heart. This resulted immediately into an emergency and coronary artery bypass. My father who never let it be known about his health was now suddenly receiving open heart surgery.

Hoping that, that is where his healing began, only a month later, we encountered another sickness. This time was trickier. He was diagnosed with stage 3 Buccal Mucosa cancer spreading into his bones and lymph nodes. After a long 11 hour procedure at Cooper Hospital, he's now facing relentless radiation to help rid the cancer completely from his body.

All I wish for is the day that he's able to talk again, his first request isn't a job offering or a way to provide for our family. He has never had a break and has constantly given his all and dedicated his body and life for his family. As a college student and his only child, I'm trying my hardest to give him any sort of ease and time away from financial hardship and struggle as he heals. I work full time to take his place and i truly underestimated what it takes to fill his shoes.

I'm asking for community members and others to please help us and help me give him the break that he so badly needs. I cannot continue to see my lovely parents break day by day to provide a roof over our heads.

May Allah bless us all with health, success, happiness, and patience.
