My name is Ali, and I’m about to embark on the biggest journey of my life. Tonight, I’m leaving Grand Rapids, Michigan, and heading to Brantley County, Georgia to drop my animals off with my family. From there, I’ll be traveling all the way to Gerlach, Nevada, where I’ve been chosen to work for Burning Man, building the man base that the man stands on until September. This is a huge opportunity for me as a fire performer, DJ, artist, and builder—a true jack of all trades. I recently moved out of my home and put everything in storage to pursue this new chapter, and I’m both excited and nervous for what’s ahead.

The funds raised here will help cover gas, food for myself and my animals, and support my family, who just returned home after evacuating due to the Brantley County fires. My cousin lost time at work and spent extra on gas during the evacuation, so your support will help them as well. I also hope to use some of the funds for hotels along the way, as traveling alone as a single female can be risky, and safety is my top priority. Eventually, I’d love to save for an RV so my animals can join me on the road after Burning Man.
