Support My Cousin Needing Urgent Open Heart Surgery

To my dear family, friends and kind-hearted strangers,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my 24-year-old cousin, Jules Verne, who is in need of immediate open heart surgery. Jules lives back home in the Philippines, where he was diagnosed with Atrial Septal Defect (ASD)—commonly known as a "hole in the heart"—at the age of 18. Doctors told him that he would need surgery before he turned 25, as his condition could be life-threatening. Unfortunately, due to a lack of financial means, Jules has not been able to undergo the surgery in time. Now, at 24, he is facing severe complications, including:

* Pulmonary hyperinflation, which makes it extremely difficult for him to exhale due to trapped air in his lungs.

* Ascites, causing a dangerous build-up of fluid in his abdomen.

* Anasarca, extreme swelling throughout his body caused by fluid accumulation.

These complications are putting his life at imminent risk, and the only way to save him is through immediate open-heart surgery. Unfortunately, this surgery can only be performed in Manila, so in addition to the costs of the procedure, hospitalisation, and post-surgery care, we also need to cover the travel expenses to bring him there. The financial burden of all these costs is overwhelming, and we are in urgent need of your help to ensure he gets the life-saving treatment he desperately requires.

Jules is a dedicated student who is about to graduate and fulfil his dream of becoming a teacher. He has his whole life ahead of him, full of potential and love.
