Support My Conservation Journey in Mozambique, Africa
Donation protected
*UPDATE: Hi everyone! I just wanted to stop to give an enormous THANK YOU to everyone that has donated so far!!! I really couldn’t do this without you guys. I’ve amazingly blown past my goal for my plane ticket, so I’ve adjusted the goal to include my second (and final) checkpoint. Overall, this wonderful experience is expected to cost me around $5,000. I can’t wait to share photos and stories when it’s done!!*
Hi everyone! I’m so excited to share that I’ve been accepted into a conservation program in Mozambique this summer.
I’ll be one of 12 students joining Oregon State University’s Applied Conservation Biology course in Gorongosa National Park—a 6-credit, hands-on experience where we’ll study savanna ecology, work with local conservationists, and gain real-world fieldwork skills in one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.
This kind of opportunity is huge for me. It supports my goal of working in conservation and will give me the kind of skills and experience I can’t get in a classroom. (Plus… let’s be honest, it’s going to be prettyyyyy freakin’ cool.)
However, since it counts as a class, I have to cover tuition and pay for travel. My plane ticket alone is expected to cost $2,500+, and while I’m fundraising and saving everything I can, it’s going to be tough to cover it myself.
That’s why I’m asking for help!
If you’re able to contribute, even just a little, it would make a huge difference. And if I’m lucky enough to pass my flight goal, any extra funds will help cover program costs, gear, vaccines, and everything else I need to make the most of this experience (overall it’s expected to cost about 5k).
Thank you so much for any support or well wishes!
