I am reaching out with a heavy heart and hopeful prayers to ask for your support for my mother, Liubov Serova, and my sister, Nadia.
My mom is currently fighting for her life in critical condition. She has been battling pancreatic cancer for over a year, and on February 5th, she suffered cardiac arrest. She is now on life support at Reston Hospital Center in Virginia.
This journey with pancreatic cancer has taken an immense emotional and financial toll on our family. We are now facing very difficult decisions as we prepare for what comes next.
My sister has been our mother’s full-time caregiver throughout this past year. She put her work and personal life on hold to care for our mom, and as a result, both of them have been living on a very limited income. Over the past year, all savings have been exhausted (pain management, out of state integrative oncology services, off label medication prescriptions to try to tackle the cancer from a different angle, appointments for second opinions, special nutritional support, caregiving) and there are no remaining funds to prepare for the next steps.
As we plan to honor our mother’s final wishes, it is deeply important to our family to follow our Christian Orthodox traditions with burial. We have found a simple option at a green cemetery that we know our mom would love. Her body will be returned to the earth naturally and peacefully.
This fundraiser has been created to help:
• Support my sister with basic living expenses during this incredibly difficult time
• Help with my mother’s burial expenses
Any contribution, no matter how small, can make a meaningful difference. If you are unable to donate, we kindly ask that you share this page and keep our mother, Liubov Serova, in your prayers.
Let us come together for a woman who has always been there for others. Your kindness, generosity, and compassion can bring hope, strength, and support when we need it most.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers, support, and generosity.
Liubov (Love), Nadia (Hope), Vera (Faith)
