Hello all, my older brother Mousa was previously affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces when they were still part of the official Sudanese armed forces, before their split. When the war broke out on April 15, 2023, between the Sudanese government and the Rapid Support Forces, my brother decided to leave the group and travel abroad to continue his professional career in Qatar. He stayed there for about three years but was unable to find a suitable job.
He then decided to return to Sudan to renew his passport, with the intention of traveling to Saudi Arabia to seek new employment opportunities. However, upon his arrival at Port Sudan Airport, he was detained because his name was reportedly listed among individuals associated with the Rapid Support Forces, despite the fact that he had already left them.
When we sought legal assistance to defend him, we were asked to pay $50,000 in legal fees, which is an amount far beyond our means and something we simply cannot afford.
Please help my brother, Rami Mousa, gain his release. Any support, no matter how small, will make a huge difference for our family.
Ameen
