Hi! My name is Jodie and I’m trying to raise money for my brother David. My brother has lived with Tourette’s for most of his life, and while a lot of people think of it as “just tics,” the reality is so much more exhausting and overwhelming than that.
His tics affect him every single day, physically, mentally, and emotionally. Things most people don’t even think about, like relaxing, focusing, or even just getting through the day without discomfort, can be a real challenge for him. It’s not something he can just switch off, and it can be incredibly draining.
Despite that, he’s one of the strongest, most creative, and caring people I know. He shows up for his family, keeps going even on the hardest days, and never lets Tourette’s define who he is, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t hard.
Recently, we’ve found a device that could genuinely change his day-to-day life. He has had a trial with this device and for the first time he’s found something that actually works. It’s designed to help reduce and manage tics, giving him something he’s never really had before, a bit of control, a bit of relief, and a bit of peace.
The only problem is the cost. Unfortunately, it’s not something easily accessible, and that’s why I’m creating this fundraiser. He’s a single dad and too proud to ask for help which is why I’ve taken it upon myself to share his story in the hopes of helping him get this device.
If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it would mean more than you know. And if you can’t, sharing this would help us just as much.
I’m not expecting for a miracle, just a chance to make life a little easier for someone who truly deserves it.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this
