My brother was hit by a car while riding an e-bike around 7 p.m. on October 22, and our family’s world changed instantly. He was unconscious after the accident and is now in a medically induced coma. Since then, he has had life-saving brain surgery, including the removal of part of his skull. He also suffered a severely broken hip and a torn leg.

Doctors have told us that his hospitalization and treatment could last for several months, possibly up to a year. Right now, we are living with so much uncertainty about his recovery and what his condition will be afterward. My younger brother and I are deeply affected, and my mom will be spending most if not all of her time at the hospital. It is making it incredibly hard to keep up with everything at home while trying to support him through this.

We are distraught, heartbroken, and trying to take this one moment at a time, but we know this will be a long road. The funds raised will help with hospital bills and medical costs, as well as family necessities during his recovery period. That support would give our family some breathing room while we focus on being there for my brother and getting through the months ahead.
