Why are there people in this world who have to endure more than one can bare?
This is the case of my Beata, who has been working for me for over 10 years and who 3 weeks ago found out that she has breast cancer - the latest finding is that the cancer has metastasized to her bones....
My Beata has started here as my cleaning lady, but she has become my friend and a person I truly love. Not only has she been super reliable and efficient in all she did, but although life has never been easy for her, she has always impressed me with her strength and positive outlook on things.
Beata has been a widow at age 42 and since then a single mom. She has worked 3 jobs, 7 days a week (president of her house association, hair dresser, cleaning) to care for herself and her son, who is in his last year of college (1st generation).
Beata does not need much for herself or to be happy, she is always willing to help (when the kids were little or today with our dog) and I could always, always count on her.
She asked me to zoom into her appointment with the oncologist next week. The diagnosis is brutal, but we never give up hope. Beata is a fighter and strong and I want to give her all the support I can.
Beata does have health insurance, but of course with a high deductible. The oncologist will decide about the treatment next week (1 round of chemo already costs $5000). At this point her body is aching everywhere from all the biopsies.
I hope that with this fundraiser I can help Beata to have one worry less: How to pay for bills and her deductible if she does not have the strength to go to work.
Life just seems so unfair. But we never give up hope and I pray for her that she can fight the cancer. Thank you so much for supporting me in this cause.
Please share it with everyone who could help in making a difference - there is no limit in giving.
Beata is a jewel and she deserves the world.
