Support My Art & Tattoo Career with Crohn’s Disease
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Kayla — a professional painter and tattoo artist in the process of building a life-sustaining creative practice while living with Crohn’s disease.
I’m raising funds to help cover my monthly cost of living and the startup costs of my tattoo business — a step that will allow me the body autonomy, financial stability, and scheduling flexibility I need to manage a lifelong illness while continuing to create art full time.
Tattooing is not just a new creative path for me — it’s a powerful tool for reclaiming agency over my time, my body, and my income. It offers me:
- The freedom to work around my health
- The ability to support my fine art practice without overexertion
- A long-term, sustainable income to allow me to keep doing work I love and believe in
Living with Crohn’s means I have to carefully manage my energy, diet, and stress to avoid flares — which makes traditional jobs and unpredictable income streams extremely difficult to maintain.
In the past three years, I’ve tried three medications and experienced two major treatment failures — one with side effects so severe I couldn’t walk for four months. I lost my climbing practice, which I had started to support my health after diagnosis, and spent a year in physical therapy. I’m still rebuilding the strength to climb and exercise regularly.
This is just one example of how Crohn’s can quietly and completely upend daily life in ways most people wouldn’t expect.
With your help, I can create a stable foundation again for my art and health to thrive together.
Your donation will go directly toward:
- Monthly cost of living while I complete my tattoo training & build clientele
- Equipment, licensing, and workspace needs for tattooing
- Keeping my painting practice active and visible through this transition
This is an investment not just in my career, but in a life where chronic illness doesn’t mean chronic instability.
Thank you for believing in me and my work — your support means more than I can express.
With gratitude,
Kayla Wroblewski
