Hello, I'm Heather. I'm an education advocate and community organizer, as well as a doctoral candidate. With the changes implemented by the new administration, I have lost my fellowship to pay for my schooling, a scholarship funder who committed to paying for my summer tuition, and my eligibility for federal student loans and grants. I find myself in the very difficult position of having to ask for help paying off summer tuition so that I can register for fall classes. I'd also like to raise enough to pay tuition for fall and spring.

My program is set up on a cohort system. Missing one semester means that I would have to wait until the next cohort (3 years) to complete my doctorate. This has long been my dream, and I would be devastated to miss the opportunity to fulfill it because of the actions of someone I didn't vote for and actually worked really hard to not get elected. This degree program has helped me become a better advocate, organizer, and leader, and I want to continue my learning journey desperately.

While I hate asking for help, I am forced to. Any assistance you can give would be appreciated.
