Help Me Complete My 72.6km Duke of Ed Gold Award Adventure!

Hi, my name is Maddy and I live in Adelaide.

I’m super excited (and a little nervous!) to share that this September, I’ll be doing my Gold Adventurous Journey as part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award – and I’d love your support to help make it happen.

For my Bronze and Silver Awards, I hiked through the Adelaide Hills and Lower Mount Crawford in the Flinders Ranges. For my Gold, I am going to challenge myself with something truly epic. So I’m signing up for a 72.6 km, multi-day coastal trek in Victoria – and it’s just been named one of Time Out's top 5 hikes in the world!

This journey is a huge step up and will push me physically and mentally – but I'm training in the gym before school and I’m so ready to take it on.

Over the next couple of months I'll be raising money to help cover the cost of the trip, travel to Melbourne, and some of the hiking and camping gear I’ll need to buy and rent to get through it safely and successfully.

If you’re able to chip in, even a little, I’d be so grateful. Every bit helps me get closer to this amazing goal – and I promise to share plenty of stories (and probably some blisters) when I get back!

An update for me: I am grateful to Outward Bound in Victoria who were kind enough to award me a $750 scholarship towards my costs to be part of this amazing journey and so I have been able to reduce my target fundraising goal!
