Support musical theater creators in Philadelphia!

Philly would be a cooler place if there were more compelling, provocative original musicals created here, and you can help make that happen by supporting MusiCoLab !

Philadelphia has all the makings of a great musical theater scene: top-tier talent, excellent training programs, and theater companies of many shapes and sizes. There’s tours, tryouts, resident professional theaters and a world-famous fringe.

What we don’t have - at least, not yet - is an infrastructure to support local musical theater writers and creators at every stage in the development of their new and original works.

That’s our vision for MusiCoLab. We want to be able to say yes to musical theater writers in the greater Philadelphia area. Yes, we see you. Yes, we believe in you. And yes, we want to help you and support you as you create exciting new work, and put that work in front of an enthusiastic and supportive audience.

To do that, we’re expanding programs like our signature Showcase Series, in which we’ve already produced eight showcases featuring 91 songs by 43 regional composers and lyricists since 2018.

We’re also undertaking new programs, like our first-ever developmental workshop of a complete musical, scheduled for late this summer.

Your donation to this GoFundMe campaign will be used to support our programming in the next few months, especially our Showcase on June 26 at the Drake Theater and our first developmental workshop, planned for August.
