Hi, my name is Tina, and I’m the proud mum of Taya – an 18-year-old student at Vocal Manoeuvres Academy with a passion for music and performance. We’re excited to share that Taya has been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform on one of the world’s most iconic stages: Carnegie Hall in New York City.
This legendary venue has hosted music legends like The Beatles, Billie Holiday, Led Zeppelin, and Judy Garland – and now, Taya has been invited to join that legacy.
Taya has dedicated herself to studying music and the arts through school, after-school programs, and university. Her dream is to pursue a lifelong career in music, and a performance at Carnegie Hall could be a major stepping stone, opening doors that most can only dream of.
In addition to her artistic journey, Taya lives with disabilities including panic disorder and sensory processing challenges. She’s been incredibly brave and resilient in learning how to navigate the world with these obstacles – but she will require a support person to accompany her for travel and daily tasks throughout this experience.
We are raising funds to help make this trip possible – not only to cover the travel and accommodation, but also the support Taya needs to truly shine on this global stage.
Her dad and I want to express our deepest gratitude for all the support, advice, and encouragement we’ve received. Your kindness means more than we could ever say. Every bit of help gets us one step closer to making Taya’s dream a reality.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
With love,
Tina (Taya’s Mum)
