My name is Alan Faiola, and I, along with my co-director Raina Fiore, am excited to announce that in late March, both the Murrow Wind Ensemble AND the Murrow Symphonic Band will be traveling to the Mid-Atlantic Concert Band Festival in Maryland. This year marks the first time we are taking two ensembles to a festival and we could not be more excited!

We encourage you to donate to this fundraiser to assist our students with their payments for this trip. This will be our band's third overnight trip in as many years, and we want our travels to continue to be a cornerstone of Murrow Music Institute culture. We want every single member of our ensembles to have the opportunity to enjoy and learn from the experience, no matter what level of financial commitment they are able to make.

Murrow is one of the largest and most diverse high schools in all of New York City, and has a long and proud tradition of excellence in arts and music. Raina and I are proud to have worked with our administrators and colleagues for the past five years to re-invigorate and expand our programs which suffered high levels of attrition due to COVID. The students who will be performing at this festival are among the most ambitious, dedicated, and appreciative students we have ever had the privilege of working with, and this trip will be a peak experience for these young people who have shown so much love for and commitment to their music program.

30 minute performance on the Performing Arts Center stage

30 minute interactive clinics with Dr. Shiree Williams, Dr. Margie Underwood, and Dr. Melissa Gustafson-Hinds

45 minute masterclasses with UMD Faculty

Performance by the University of Maryland Wind Ensemble

Performances from outstanding high school bands from throughout the mid-Atlantic region and beyond!

Students will also get an opportunity to enjoy the National Aquarium in Baltimore, take a music-oriented "Anchors Aweigh" tour of the Naval Academy, and and enjoy an evening bonding and bowling at Bowlero, College Park.
