With heavy hearts, we’re reaching out for help for our sweet 10-year-old dog, Murphy.

On Saturday, July 26th, around 4 PM, Murphy was attacked by another dog while roaming our front yard. The attack left him with severe injuries, including the dislocation of his right eye.

After rushing Murphy to an emergency veterinary clinic, he was found to be stable. However, due to a high volume of critical cases that night, he was forced to wait 14 hours before receiving surgery. During that time, he was given pain medication, and I stayed up until 6 AM waiting for the message to inform me that he was in the operating room.

Murphy made it through surgery, though unfortunately, he has permanently lost his right eye. His recovery will require at least two weeks of medication and close care. To make things more difficult, the removal of his tear duct was complicated due to the wounds. If it doesn’t heal properly, Murphy will require another surgery.

As a full-time university student juggling two jobs to get by, this unexpected emergency has placed an enormous financial strain on me.
