Murphy

Hi everyone. This is Joe, Murphy’s brother. I am writing this on behalf of my sister, her husband Chris and their two children, Luke and Ireland. Murphy, once again, is battling cancer. Unfortunately for my sister, this is not something new for her. In March of 2020, Murphy was diagnosed with breast cancer resulting in a double mastectomy and six weeks of radiation. The following year in 2021, she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She spent 38 days during Christmas hospitalized and undergoing intensive chemotherapy. Then, in May of 2024, she was diagnosed with endometrial cancer resulting in a full hysterectomy plus the removal of her cervex. Later on that year, she was also hospitalized for sepsis. This past November, she was hospitalized due to an infection and had to have her breast implants removed. Finally, in March of this year she found out that she has Acute Myeloid Leukemia again. This time with a rare mutation called TP53. It is a very aggressive mutation and does not respond to treatments very well. After going through two rounds of chemo, numerous blood transfusions and about a week in the hospital, her body does not seem to be responding to the treatment. There was hope for a stem cell transplant which was the best option but, Murphy’s condition is not good enough and makes her ineligible. Her best chance for prolonged life now is to go to Houston, Texas, where she will be in an early stage clinical trial. My sister and her husband, along with the kids, are heading to Texas this week and we are asking for help for them. Donations will be used for housing for her family, any and all medical expenses and travel. We appreciate anything you may be able to give.
