On October 30, 2025, our family experienced an unimaginable loss. My cousin, Muhammad Rafiq, was one of four people tragically killed in a car accident in Kankakee. He was struck head-on by a reckless driver going in the wrong lane. He had come to the United States legally just over two years ago, full of hope and determination, to work hard and build a better future for his family.

He was a devoted husband and a loving father of five young children who now face life without their father’s warmth, strength, and support. This GoFundMe has been created on behalf of our family to help support Muhammad’s children during this heartbreaking time. All funds will go directly toward their care, education, and future needs as they begin to rebuild their lives.
