Jennifer Yoshioka… known and loved by so many at our school as “Ms Yoshi” needs our help for once instead of being the one always helping others.
This summer she had an unfortunate accident fell from a ladder at home. She injured her knee and in true teacher fashion, she ended up waiting until it was a good time for students before she ended up doing the surgery to repair the damage. She lost a lot of range of motion during this time and will be out of work for a good while as she heals.
Despite being out of work to recover, Ms Yoshi has 5 other people that depend on her and bills don’t really stop just because you have to.
Ms Yoshi has helped hundreds of children along the way in her 20 years of teaching. Her heart is for children of any kind but she is best known for advocating for those with special needs and pushing for acceptance from others who may not understand how a neurodivergent brain works and how they can support their friend who is struggling- not just from an emotional and physical standpoint but from a spiritual one as well. I’ve seen personally pre k and kindergarten students in her class be more aware of their friend’s emotions and how they could help a friend than most adults do on a daily basis. Ms Yoshi has always gone above and beyond for her students and the parents of her students, too.
I am hoping that some of that love and support can be given back to her while she is having to recover at home And hoping we can cover a couple months (or close to it) of expenses for her.
Her biggest requests are prayer for recovery and the pain to get better and the range of motion to increase. Her other prayer request is for her finances.
If you cannot support monetarily, please consider just showing love by prayer.
You can also check into tutoring if you’d like to support her that way as well! She has a page for that on FB called “Growing with Grace.”
