Dear Learning Tree Parents,

As educators, we strive to make a lasting impact on the lives of the children in our care and their families. Some educators go above and beyond, touching lives in ways they don’t even realize. Ms. Mekia is one of those truly great Teachers that goes beyond the borders of everyday expectations.

For the past 18 years, Ms. Mekia has worked at The Learning Tree and has made a lasting difference in the lives of countless children, families, and co-workers. Her dedication, kindness and passion are evident in the relationships she has forged along the way.

Unfortunately, Ms. Mekia recently received the news that she will need to begin a fight against breast cancer. Despite this difficult journey, Ms. Mekia continues to show her dedication to her children and will continue to work until her treatment begins.

This journey for Ms. Mekia is going to be a difficult one in many ways: physically, emotionally and financially. To help return the support Ms. Mekia has shown the Learning Tree Family and hopefully be able to provide her with a little ease of mind to focus on her healing, we are sponsoring a GoFundMe in her name. Hopefully we can provide Ms. Mekia will a little peace and comfort as she goes through her cancer journey and we are able to welcome her back with open arms on the other side!
