Support Ms. Evans in her fight against Rare Cancer
Cami Evans - a happy, kind-spirited, and compassionate mother, teacher, and mentor - has not only had a positive force and impact on so many students and individuals, but has created a safe and helpful environment in her school and community. She has always kept a smile even through the most challenging obstacles while helping others do the same.
Ms. Evans was able to beat soft tissue cancer within the last year (2018) after surgically removing the tumor, her right kidney, and ureter, but unfortunately on March 11 of this year (2019), it came back with a vengeance leading to Stage IV Retroperitoneal Leiomyosarcoma (LMS). This rare form of cancer affects approximately 1/6,000,000 Americans every year. Although treatable through various forms of chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery, it will not be easy for her to get past these difficult times. She will be in and out of her job frequently for the next 15 weeks as she will be undergoing chemotherapy as the first step in her treatment. It is unknown what the next steps will be after that point, but the fight will continue. She is very optimistic and positive about her current situation and counts her blessings everyday.
We wanted to be able to give back since she has always given so much but never asks for much in return, so we have created this GoFundMe to try and help her look past the stressors of her medical bills and not have to worry as much. Any donation of any amount is greatly appreciated as it will help her and her family. If you can, share this fundraiser with as many friends and family as possible. Please send her and her family your prayers and support. Thank you.
