Support Ms. Bonnie's Journey to Better Care

I am Patricia Williams, and I am raising money for my neighbor, Ms. Bonnie. After seeing her door open in February, myself and another neighbor rescued Ms. Bonnie from her poor living conditions. Wow, what we saw shocked me. That morning, only God could help her.

Bonnie has lived next to me for about 20 years; she's shy and dislikes people. Her seclusion is borderline. She would probably be dead in her home if we hadn't found her that day. Since that dreadful morning, I've defended her.

This is what I know of Ms. Bonnie: she has traveled, worked professionally, and became a popular Chattanooga DJ. She lacks resources and lives alone. This woman has lived next to me for 20 years without visitors. She needs help—what now?

Pride doomed Ms. Bonnie, who had needed help before. Moving through her home, we see she hasn't paid her bills in years. She forgot to eat and take care of herself.  Since her rebirth, Ms. Bonnie has needed specialized nursing. However, the facility was in inadequate shape and did not meet standards. We have since moved her to a new facility to manage and give her the care needed for her dementia and Alzheimer's.

The new facility offers all the amenities and is less stressful, but its private care presents a challenge. We considered selling her house. Unfortunately, this failed. We then found that home liens diminish equity, which might have paid care for at least a year and a half! It breaks my heart that she won't have some dignity before entering a state facility. We need $20,000 to provide for her care. I've met some fantastic folks in my Facebook groups who assisted with her initial move.

We must bless and care for the elderly. God called me to be this woman's advocate, and since no one wants to help, I can't refuse. This elderly woman is bewildered, lost, sick, and in need. If you can, contribute from the heart. Matthew 7:7-8 advises seeking God's wisdom. Ask and you'll receive; search and you'll find; knock and it'll open." Ms. Bonnie couldn't do it, so my neighbor and I asked, searched, and knocked on several doors. We're asking for community assistance

This page features a picture of Ms. Bonnie in her new home. She describes her excitement as a sense of relief from her burdens. Our most needy are the most unwanted! This will enable her to receive care that even the poorest cannot afford. I hope God opens our hearts to contribute what we can. 100%  goes to her care and needs.
