Help the Reyes Family Rebuild After Tragedy

The Reyes Family has endured unimaginable heartbreak in just a few short months.

On September 23rd Mrs. Reyes, a 71 year-old widow living on retirement income, lost her beloved son after a gruesome three-year battle with brain cancer. He was a dedicated teacher aide who spent nearly 20 years serving students in education. Though he had no children of his own, he reached countless lives with patience, kindness, and commitment. Throughout his illness, his older brother made the selfless choice to put it on himself and quit his job and become a full-time caretaker. Together the family endured the long loosing battle, leaning only on each other.

On December 1st, tragedy struck yet again. The Reyes family lost their home to a devastating fire. The devastating fire took the entire condominium building on Plaza Verde Dr., leaving all residents without a home, including her. In a span of a mere couple of months, the family has endured the loss of a son, brother and now their home. Mrs. Reyes, at 71 now faces the overwhelming challenge of rebuilding her life without the security of her home, while carrying the full weight of grief.
