Mrs. Lili Mayorga is a beloved kindergarten teacher at Sunset Elementary. She is known for her kindness, thoughtfulness, and the way she goes out of her way to look out for others. As a devoted mom to Sienna and JD, and a lover of reading and orchids, Mrs. Mayorga brings warmth and joy to everyone she meets. Her students adore her, and her colleagues cherish her as a wonderful friend and mentor.
Over winter break, Mrs. Mayorga began experiencing stomach pain, the kind she couldn't ignore. With her doctor’s office closed, she went to the hospital, where scans revealed a tumor and blockage in her colon. She was rushed into emergency surgery, and after five days in the hospital, she received the devastating diagnosis of stage 3 colon cancer at just 46 years old. This news has been overwhelming for her and her family, as they now face a long road of treatment and recovery.
As Mrs. Mayorga begins chemotherapy, she will be unable to work, creating a significant financial strain for her family. The funds raised will help supplement her income during this difficult time and assist with the mounting medical bills that are sure to come. Any amount helps—teachers like Mrs. Mayorga shape the lives of our children with little compensation, always giving with grace and heart. Now, as she faces this enormous challenge, it’s our turn to step up and support someone who has given so much to so many young lives. Your generosity, whether through a donation or by sharing this fundraiser, will make a real difference for Mrs. Mayorga and her family. We are confident that with her positive outlook and fierce determination, Mrs. Mayorga will beat this!
