Mason, our beloved service dog of 9 years, came down unexpectedly with a medical emergency. We rushed him to the ER and he was diagnosed with a possible protein-losing neuropathy from either a tick bite (Lyme disease) or from a bacterial infection. Since being admitted to the animal hospital, he has undergone many tests and scans to find the cause of his kidney injuries and started receiving treatment. Mason is responding well to the treatment and while his prognosis is still up in the air, we are relieved that he is showing improvement.
Mason has been my lifelong partner and has recently begun training Barry, his younger "brother," to be his replacement for service dog duties. We are hopeful Mason can make a full recovery and come home and return back to his normal fun and goofy life!
With any medical emergency, this has incurred expenses beyond what we can really afford and we are creating this GoFundMe in hopes to mitigate some of those costs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We plan to make daily updates as we get them from his doctors and document his stay and recovery.
Thank you
