During the Vietnam War from 1960 to 1975, Hmong people helped the CIA (American government) to rescue American downed pilots and stop the Ho Chi Minh trail B from Laos to Cambodia. After May 14th, 1975, Laos fell to Communist Vietnam. About 35,000 to 50,000 Hmong soldiers died, and about 80,000 to 100,000 Hmong civilians died during the Secret War in Laos. Many Hmong fled on foot, bike, car, and boat, crossing the Mekong River to Thailand seeking freedom in the United States, France, Canada, Australia, and many other countries.
On May 14th, 2025, it will be 50 years of our Hmong freedom in America. Therefore, Mr. Xiong and Mr. Yang are biking and walking for freedom.
