My name is Mike Wyka, and many of you from Holy Name of Mary School know how much I value community and helping others—a trait I learned from my mom.

On March 26th, my mom sadly passed away in her sleep after a long journey with several illnesses, including dementia. She was a wonderful woman who loved her family, friends, and the simple joys of life, always going out of her way to make everyone feel welcome.

As dementia took its toll, important paperwork and planning were overlooked. Now, I'm facing the devastating possibility of losing our family home—a place she loved dearly and would have been heartbroken to know might not stay in the family.

As my mom's sole provider and caregiver, I dedicated myself to her well-being, standing by her through every challenge as her dementia progressed. Now, I'm navigating this difficult journey alone, and the weight of unexpected legal fees for probate feels overwhelming. Many of you have lovingly offered to help, and while it's hard for me to ask, I'm humbled to accept that I can't do this on my own.

Your support, no matter the size, will have a tremendous impact. Your generosity will go directly toward the legal fees needed to secure our family home, allowing me to honor my mom's memory and keep her spirit alive within its walls. I have worked for HNM for over 30 years, and while it's a ministry, it's a humble one.
