Support Mr. Quibbles Urgent Medical Care

Donation protected
My name is Rachel, and I’m a broke musician trying to find her way and place in this world. My cat, Mr. Quibbles—my baby, my heart, my world—is currently in the emergency animal hospital, undergoing treatment for a bladder blockage. I was told by the veterinarian that the necessary treatments may not end here, as they could uncover more issues, and that given his urinary tract history, he will most likely require PU surgery to correct things.

His health is not from my lack of trying—he’s my child, and I will do anything and everything that I possibly can for him; I’ll move heaven and earth if it means he will be okay. This GoFundMe is one way for me to do that, an avenue I was encouraged to take by the kindhearted, cat-loving community on TikTok.

Mr. Quibbles is a living miracle cat. I rescued him off the streets of a very rough neighborhood. He was malnourished, scared, and in the freezing cold. I adopted him, and he quickly became my baby. I was up with him in the early hours of the morning (and sometimes still am) because he was hungry or wanted to play or had the zoomies. To give you an idea of what I’ll do for my cat and how I know he’s meant for me—when Quibbles was about 9 months old, he somehow managed to climb up under my car and hang on for an 18-mile ride on the interstate. He got off at my favorite coffee shop, where he survived for 2 and 1/2 days eating nothing but grass and bugs. His resourcefulness truly amazed me, but what happened next is something I’ll always cherish. When the coffee shop opened the following Monday morning at 5 am, he meowed at the door, alerting the staff to his presence and that he needed help. After a frantic weekend of searching for him day and night and crying so much I was physically ill, I received a voicemail from an unknown number saying they had found my cat. I quickly called the number back, and he told me he had my baby. He had put him in his truck to keep him safe and would wait for me at the coffee shop so I could pick him up. Even though Quibbles is microchipped, I had hand-stitched my phone number onto his collar as a precaution (there weren’t universal readers back then, and I always worried; I’m glad I did). When I got to him, he had third-degree burns on his paws from the ride under my car. It broke my heart and scared me to think about what he went through, but I was happy to have him back. I immediately took him to get treatment and then brought him home and nursed him back to health. I told him if he ever wanted coffee that bad again, to let me know, and I’d make him some at home, or he could ride inside the car with me to get some—and come to find out, he is a great little shotgun rider!

I recognize most people aren’t as fortunate as I am to get their pet back. I am so thankful I got him back every single day. Especially since he’s been my constant companion, my best buddy, my pride and joy, and confidant. He’s helped me navigate some of the darkest seasons of my life over these past six years. Without him, I might not be here.

Unfortunately, he is now facing health challenges that require urgent and continued medical attention, and the costs are overwhelming.

I am seeking your help to cover his medical expenses so that I can bring him home where he belongs and get him back to being the happy, healthy, mischievously troublesome, and funny boy that he is. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in our lives. Thank you for considering supporting my journey to help Mr. Quibbles recover and continue to be a part of my life. Your kindness means everything to me, and him too. He very rarely meets someone he doesn’t want to become best friends with. Thank you for your help.
